In FL Studio, VocAlign works as a realtime insert where
- Dub audio is captured from the channel the plugin is on
- Guide audio is captured from the sidechain input
- Audio is captured by arming the plugin, then playing back the range (in FL Studio) that you want to capture into the plugin.
Please see a demonstration of VocAlign 6 in FL Studio here:
VocAlign setup in FL Studio
1) Send your Guide vocal to a mixer insert.
2) Send each of your Dub vocals to their own individual mixer inserts.
3) Sidechain the Guide insert to each of the Dub mixer inserts by having the Guide insert selected, right-clicking the up-facing arrow at the bottom of each Dub insert, then choosing "sidechain to this track"
Make sure not to turn the knob - that can mix the Guide audio into the Dub input signal, which you don't want.
3) With the Guide insert selected, you should see the side-chain going to each Dub insert as a transparent green line.
4) Add an instance of VocAlign to each Dub insert
5) head to all of their processing settings panes with the gear and then the plug/gear icon in the top left corner of each plugin window.
Set the Mono Aux In to 1, or click the "Auto map inputs" button which should do the same.
Make sure to enable the aux input by clicking the button to the right so it's lit up.
Do not change the Mono Out — leave it as "..."
- The Aux In routing is only possible after setting up the side-chain in the mixer. Before setting the side-chain, the aux in won't be available.
6) Arm the Capture button in the VocAlign UI, then play back on your FL Studio timeline to capture audio into the plug-in.
