If you see the error:
VocAlign Project could not do
this because...
There is no selected Guide ... (8003)
1) You may not have an audio region selected
2) You may not have an instance of the VocAlign AU (ARA) plug-in on the track where your audio region is selected
3) The selected audio region may not be a supported type.
- ARA captures will only work on plain audio regions; Comp/Take folders, regions with Flex time/pitch active, and Apple Loops will not work.
- You can take any of these unsupported region types and turn them into a compatible one by Bouncing in Place to create a new plain audio region.
- It is recommended to uncheck the "Include Volume/Pan Automation" checkbox if you're working with Mono audio: including the automation results in a Stereo region, and can cause routing issues like loss of output audio.
4) you may be using an older Logic Pro version that does not support ARA operation.
The ARA version of the plugin may open, but you will not be able to capture your Guide.
VocAlign ARA support requires Logic Pro version 10.6.1 or later.
With older versions of Logic Pro, you can capture your audio using the AU version of the plugin, as documented in the VocAlign Project 5 User Guide, in this section: Using the real-time AU version of VocAlign Project 5 in Logic Pro X
