VocAlign Project 5 and VocAlign 6 Standard share a plug-in ID.
Similarly, VocAlign Ultra and VocAlign 6 Pro share a plug-in ID.
When you install VocAlign 6, it overwrites the older version.
Because of the shared ID, VocAlign 6 will load in place of the older version (e.g. if you load a project saved with VocAlign Project 5, VocAlign 6 Standard will take over) and will keep audio data and settings intact.
This makes upgrading smoother, as a drop-in replacement, but the older installers don't know about VocAlign 6 and can't do the same.
In order to move back to either VocAlign Project 5 or VocAlign Ultra without causing a conflict, version 6 needs to be uninstalled.
macOS:
1) Remove the VocAlign 6 plug-ins from these three directories:
AAX: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/
AU: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
VST3: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
- Make sure you're navigating to the system library and not the user library inside your home folder.
To get to the right library, use the Command+Shift+G command in the Finder to open the Go To modal, and type in
/Library
2) Install VocAlign Ultra or VocAlign Project 5, using the installers found on your Plugins page.
Windows
1) Uninstall VocAlign 6 using Windows' Add or Remove Programs / Apps & Features control panel.
2) Install VocAlign Ultra or VocAlign Project 5, using the installers found on your Plugins page.
