When capturing audio in Pro Tools, if a window pops up showing "Rendering" with the selected track name, but the progress bar won't move and Pro Tools will appear not to respond, please check the format of your hard drive.
You may see this if your is formatted as ExFAT.
Moving your Pro Tools session to a hard drive that is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) will restore normal operation.
